Both in the TOEFL iBT and the TOEIC, you are not expected to use the keyboard at all in the Speaking Section. Everything flows automatically – one page follows another in accordance with a preset timing plan.

  • In this website, in the Speaking Section for either TOEFL iBT or TOEIC, you need to click the “Next page” button to move forward.
  • For the TOEFL iBT, there is a listening section for five tasks in each speaking activity. You listen to a conversation or a lecture first. The audio file for this listening section will start automatically. In addition, you are strongly advised to use either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for the Speaking Section. Other internet browser may not support the voice-recording function.
  • In order to make sure that the audio file will start automatically and you can record your own speaking response properly, you should do the activity titled “Test Your Browser” first.
  • There is a time limit for each speaking task. When the time is over, your responses are saved by the software.
  • You cannot go back to the previous page in a speaking activity.
  • You can take each speaking task only one time.
  • Your responses to the speaking tasks will be checked and evaluated by the course teacher.
